Is it just me or has anyone else noticed the HUGE amount of wasps going around this year? they seem to be everywhere at the moment. And don't you hate it when they are buzzing round your bed at night?

*shudder*

I ahven't seen any wasps this year.

For us, this is bad year for fleas. Me and the boyfriend are washing the dog and the cat everynight with flea shampoo, and we are using the stuff ourselves. AND I ahve sprayed the house and yard with flea stuff. And they still come back!! :hissyfit: :hissyfit: :hissyfit: :hissyfit:

I have big issues with mosquitos!!
And this is a new sort, not usual in these areas, they cause big swellings that scratch terribly, they're called tiger-mosquitos, 'cause they have stripes on their tail (I guess!).
They popped around here about two years ago, and they particulary like to bite me...I was full of swellings last summer, I even had to go to a doctor because that was an allergic reaction common for that type of mosquitos..they wanted to give me an injection..but..I told them I can do without it

What do you use to get rid of them? At the moment I am washing her everynight with Tea Tree flea shampoo. Going to get some xtuff to put on the back of her neck when I have the cash. then i'm getting flea powder. And a flea collar.

They'll die I tells ya! *Cackles madly*

:p

I use everything lmao. To be honest tho I think the flea shampoos are utter garbage, they might clear a few off the dog but the next day they are all right back on there. Best thing I have found is flea tablets.

They are a bit on the pricey side but they WORK so are worth every penny ............ be warned tho, if you have carpets then take her outside if you want to give them to her as the fleas literally start dropping off after 10 minutes.

So my flea regime is...

Tablets to exterminate the fleas on the dog

Shampoo to get the flea dirt out his coat

Flea spray for the nooks and crannies in the house (don't use if you have fish or birds tho)

Crushed garlic in the dog food to help deter the dirty blood suckers from coming back lol

Also if you have a wee desk spotlight handy....... put a shallow dish of water with a touch of washing up liquid in it on the floor, put the spotlight on the floor as close as you can (try to get the light bulb directly over the water) and leave switched on overnight. The fleas will be attracted to the heat of the bulb, jump towards it and fall in the water and the washing up liquid will prevent them being able to "float" on the surface so they drown horribly

I just put Frontline or Advantix, and my dog doesn't have fleas at all...never did. I just put that every month or two, you mustn't bathe him two days before and two days after and that's it. It's like a lotion you just place on his upper part of neck and spine.

I have heard of dogs getting their feelings hurt when people put that stuff on them...but they have it for cats too, and actually, a friend of mine would use the same stuff on her dog and cat.

My dilemma is that my doggie is so tiny...maybe 3 pounds now!!
