Mobile Phone Offer Scam?

This may or may not be a scam, but for the last 2 weeks I have had loads of missed calls daily from 02920368700 - Can I just let you all know, after typing this into a google search I found umpteen sites with threads containing this number and saying it is a scam including a Three Mobile upgrade package.

As I say, it may or may not be a scam... just watch out guys, and don't give them ANY bank details. If they offer you something and it sounds tempting, take note of the details and contact Three directly and ask them about it.

In one thread, a girl gave bank details, then afterwards she phoned Three for information and was told they are not offering any deals like this right now.

A mate of mine had a phone call saying that they were from her mobile company and could they talk to her Dad(he had been the original name on the contract until about 5 months ago)...my mate said that this was not her Dad's phone and never had been...they then went on to ask for his number and my mate said that they could check their records as it was on there...they then said that they could talk to her and wanted to upgrade her phone(she had only had a new upgrade about a month before)but needed her bank details to make sure she was who she said she was...with that she put the phone down and phoned her mobile company only to be told that they had not called her and she was wise not to give any details out to whoever it was...she now has a password that the company will give her when they call so she knows it is really them.
 
To be honest, I'm unsure. I think so. They called me yesterday and I managed to answer... "Calling from Three, want to offer you a free upgrade on your mobile phone handset...."

When I heard this... I said "No thanks, please do not call this number again" and hung up

There is definatly a huge scam going on with mobile phones...Im just glad in a way that Im pay as you go...I don't get calls like that.
