Changing Cities

I'm sure lots of people do this, but when things aren't going top notch for me I always consider moving to another city to get a fresh start. It's something I've been wanting to do for a while but never actually did it. I always come up with a "serious" plan but never carry it out.

So if you had the choice... what cities would you love to run away to?

My current list:

1- Chicago
2- Montreal
3- New York City
4- London
5- Toronto.

I'm thinking of maybe taking a short trip to Chicago in the near future to check it out and seeing if I like it. I just wish I hadn't waited until the cold season started!

-New Orleans

-New York

-London

-Paris

-Somewhere in Greece

That's funny. When I want a fresh start, I just move from one house to another, but stay in the same town!!

I've stopped doing that, fortunately.

I'm just getting tired of it where I am... it's almost impossible to make new friends as everyone hangs around the same people they went to high school with their entire lives. It's annoying, and considering I've had to let go of most of my friends thanks to ex-boyfriends... I just want to start somewhere else.

And for some reason, Chicago is looking sooo appealing right now.

I think my life speaks for itself.... But out of your list, I would think possibly london *coff*

Though Australia does have its good ponts too you know

I've looked into London... but the rents seem ridiculously expensive.

Australia would be good, since I love the warm weather... but I am afraid of black widow spiders and... uh... koalas. Yes.

Don't know if you've heard about Kundera, a writer? Well, he wrote the "unbearable lightness of being" and (just for the record, I liked his other book better, but this one also has some pretty good stuff) there he said that whenever a person was unhappy, he/she wanted to change cities. To be honest, I feel the same. But I love this town (with all it's flaws that I actually want to get away from) and climate and my family, my dog too much to do that for real..but honestly - I'd love to have a fresh start somewhere..I think about that quite often.

I've never heard of Kundera, but that's interesting that someone wrote about that. It is quite true. I guess the feeling of wanting to run away doesn't go away after you're a teenager.

Thisty... I am easily swayed. How about I replace London with Edinburgh? Can't afford the London rents anyway.

Though I can't imagine Edinburgh being THAT much cheaper.

Or maybe... hmmm....
