BAH! Ok, so our fridge wasn't working so for at least a week now we've been freezing bottles in the overactive freezer (at least -27 degrees C. cos we accidently froze a 40% bottle of vodka in there) and transferring them to the underactive fridge/chillibin....

Told the landlords.

My flatmate's Dad used to work for Fisher and Paykel so knows a whole lot about fridges and whatnot so the landlords asked for a bit of input as to what fridge they should be looking at. We gave them ALL these model types, measured the (rather miniature) alcove for the fridge, told them which models really most likely wouldn't fit and recommended a couple of others that would fit.

Do you know what they do? They get the exact model we said WOULDN'T FIT. *facepalm*

So all of yesterday afternoon we attempted to maneuvre it intot he kitchen, ended up having to lay it on it's side to lift it over the bench. Then the hinges were on the wrong side (which isn't the landlords fault cos we didn't tell them it had to be on a certain side - otherwise you can't get into the fridge cos honestly, you can stand in one place and reach just about everything comfortably - fridge, microwaves, oven, cutlery, dishwasher). So we had to change the hinges - not so bad cos flatmate knows what's she's doing bt had to get tools from a friend first...

AND we had to take down a shelf and bracket that the microwave was sitting on to get it into the alcove. And the wall may or may not be dented.

*frustration* Al that cos they didn't listen to us?!!? AND they asked for our input!!! ALl they asked in measurements was the height of alcove, but we measured that AND the width AND the depth but they didn't take that into account!

*headwall*

GARGH

Yeah some landlords are useless.

We just moved out of a unit because of the landlord. We were paying for a "fully furnished" unit and when we moved in the fridge, dishwasher, garbage disposal and half the power points didn't work and we were still paying more than the tenants in the other units!

*jaw drop*
Wholley crap! That's terrible! How long did you stay before you moved out again?

Our landlords re normally pretty good. He came in and did all this fix-it stuff when we first moved in and everything and they've been really nice but GAH.

It's not too bad after telling our real estate agent every week for 8 MONTHS, they finally came and fixed our leaking toilet. All because we got a $600 water bill, which we can't afford, and the landlord paid $100 of it
