Always make a point of eating together as a family/couple? or do you eat separately depnding on who is home and when?

Personally I would never even think about having my dinner before Subby was home from work, even if he is working til 9.30 pm, I'll wait and have my dinner with him when he gets back and I'd be extremely offended if I was working late and got home to find that he had eaten without me. Of course logic dictates that if we had children and he was working late I woudln't make them wait that long to eat but I wouldn't have my own until then.

Granted this is the way I have been brought up.....as children we ALWAYS ate dinner at teh same time as our parents.not necessarily round a table but we always ate our meals together and that was when we talked.

We always ate together when growing up also. Hubby and I work 9-5 so we eat together also. We don't sit at a table as we've no space for it, but we both have our own wee table to eat at in the living room.

I'm like you thisty, if he eats without me I feel left out

My daughter and I eat at the same time, but usually not together. It's fine with the both of us...

But when I was growing up, it was usually me and my Dad. My Mom would join us sometimes, but she was busy with work, or being irritated with us, LOL!!

Well my 7 month old daughter has her tea about 5, my 7 year old son about 6 and me and the other half eat after they are tucked up in bed.

We have a very small house and no room for a table so we have got into bad habits. Before we moved (and before baby's arrival) we made the effort to sit at the table all together, now we've lost the plot.

It is nice to have tea just with the other half though even if it is on the sofa with plates on our laps.

I've grown up always eating at the table with the family and that's what I want witha family of my own. Even when I'm flatting, we all try to eat together, unless someone is out until late and then we just serve theirs up and leave it in the fridge for them later. Fort the msot part, we ate together though

My fiance and I always eat together, unless I'm working really late and then I let him off the hook. Wouldn't want him starving to death LOL.

Me and my hubby always eat together. He works some strange hours sometimes (swing -.-), but I still wait for him to get home before I eat anything... And I am pretty damn hungry when he finally does get home lol. Sometimes he must think I eat like a pig lmao!

Before we both started studying, we ate at different times, but that was because he would be up at 6 to start work at 7 (after a half hour walk. And then walking home again at night), and I wuld be working until 10 at night. So it would have been a bit unfair to make him wait, because he was usually in bed by 8 :p

Now that we are both home at the same time, we always eat dinner together :) Which isn't something we done when I was growing up. My dad use to be away for 6 months at a time, and my mother was a nurse, so it was usually me, my older sister and the babysitter.

It's nice to have that family time at the dinner table, but it's just not really possible for us...my daughter is busy with homework, and I get to get home from work, cook dinner, and try to get the usual chores done before I fall into bed, or asleep on the couch!

Lol my parents and grandad (whos lving with us) all eat together either in the lounge or at the dining table. Me and my two brothers always used to eat with them but as we got older, one by one we started having dinner in our rooms. I think the only time we have a proper family meal together is at christmas, but that makes it extra special!

I never have diiner the same time as anyone else, because i can hardly eat what they do. And i cant cook so its usually chippy lol x
