I Think My Family Is Falling Apart

<
I'm really not... I bailed after 6 months. I couldn't take it.

And I did not "slap anyone in the face", if someone wants assistance or to vent then that's just fine, but there is still no excuse to throw around disorders like that.

My frustration stems from being around people who both had serious illnesses and also people who were overmedicated with various disorders that they may or may not have. We've had this conversation before. I just find throwing around names like that undermines the seriousness of the disorders.

Ok how about I don't know for sure Or care I was just told that you don't need to say I am a lier...

how about this what should I do about the fact that at one min I and fine then the next I am extreamly sad or mad at some thing that doesn't make sence like out of no where...?

Yes, but when a post contains a whole heap of problems in someones life, and the only replies stem around 4 words in that post... which was how he was trying to diagnose his own feelings... rather then comparing himself to those with the disorder.... then I think that people need to maybe treat the usage of the term lightly, or at least just point out to the person how serious the disorder is... AS WELL AS address the rest of the post....

Ive been diagnosed with it, I dont find use of it offensive... I might find it incorrect, but this isnt something I blame someone for.... misinformation is not a crime, education is how you help.. rather then condemnation.

*note, today is my wedding anniversery so im not in a happy mood lol*

See help, go to a doctor and get him to recommend a psychiatrist/psychologist.

Who diagnosed you with ADHD and when were you diagnosed?
If you are still at school how old are you?
Are you seeing a professional i.e a Psychologist?

A school counsellor is not going to diagnose the conditions you say you have and certainly not qualified to do such. However he/she would refer you to a specialist....

Well, I'm sorry but I'm not going to write a novel on what I think on the issue. I had a rough teenagehood myself but I never went around telling people I had disorders, despite the fact that plently of doctors were quite eager to tell me I had them. I'm now 24 and it's quite clear I don't have any of them.

Doctors and people alike are so eager to justify their feelings with an outside reason rather than deal with their problems. Granted it's much, much harder to deal with them when the family you're living with IS the problem, I can certainly acknowledge that, but that still doesn't equal a disorder.

And it's not specific to anyone, it's just my feelings on the matter in general. I just don't take lightly to self-diagnosis as it often leads to tunnel vision on those disorders.

well THE ADHD I have gone to a real doctor about[/b]

Sorry I didn't see this. If you have been diagnosed with adhd a suggestion would be for you go back to the Doctor who is supervising you. It maybe that you need a re-evaluation right now from what you are writing. And possibly the feelings you have are triggered by the adhd.

However No-one on these boards is qualified to give you a medical opinion all we can do is give you suggestions and listen. It is upto you to do something about it. I think you should go and speak to your Parents. If this is not possible a Teacher at school or another adult who you trust.

That is what I did I asked the school doctor person I know he said I was bi poler but that doesn't make it true just what I was told so sorry if I offended any one.

Hey its okay.

You asked on the first page if there was anything you can do about this. The fact that you are aware of what is happening to you shows that you are intelligent enough to realise that something is up. It shows that you have not gone down hill too badly.
From experience with depression myself I would say your first port of call is to go and see your Family Doctor who will know your complete medical history. Tell him what is happening in your life right now. He would be able to advise you on the best course of action and if there is a diagnosis then he will do that and help you.

Well with my experience of depression I know that a doctor would only tell you (you COULD) be suffering from depression and then send you to see an expert. I see you say you suffer from ADHD and that you feel down and mad with people sometimes. Those are classic symptoms of ADHD but NOT depression.

If you were that depressed you wouldn't even think it let alone know you were depressed. I was depressed for more than 2 years and as far as I was concerned I was fine, that's what it does to you. I only found out because I lost over 7 stone that that I was sent to a psychiatrist who told me I was suffering from chronic depression.

I would say, don't listen to a doctor when it comes to things like that, their job is to try and get you help NOT diagnose you.
