What is it?

Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) was introduced as a worldwide campaign in 1993 by Evelyn Lauder to:
* increase awareness of breast cancer
* raise funds for research into the disease
* support people affected by the disease.

Today, the major breast cancer and cancer charities all over the UK continue to champion the cause every October, employing the pink ribbon – now a global symbol of breast cancer awareness.
How we've helped so far

Breast Cancer Care was the first breast cancer charity in the UK to get involved in BCAM, helping bring the subject of breast cancer and breast health to the forefront of people's minds and to the top of the health agenda in this country.
What we do

Breast Cancer Care uses BCAM as an opportunity to make people aware of the ways in which it helps anyone affected by breast cancer or with breast health concerns. We do this through:
* fundraising activities, including the Breast Cancer Care Fashion Shows – the charity's flagship events
* pushing for better treatment and support via high-profile campaigns such as 80over50 and Same Difference
* putting many pink products on sale to raise money for the charity, including long-standing partners ASDA and Boots and other high-profile brands such as QVC, Dorothy Perkins, Swarovski and Interflora.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. To help support them, please feel free to use any of the following images in your signatures on the websites you visit:
