A Lonely Sunday

Rain pours down on me,
Broken memories of you frefall from the windswept skies,
Shattering as they hit this woeful reality,
That we'll never meet eyes again.

I remember your face,
Yet your name remains lost in the rain,

Everyone's off at church,
Praying for their lost loved ones,
While I cry here and dream of your face,
Unleashing a tear with each pang of misery.

This relentless rain swallows me,
Engulfs me in the darkness of my own heart,
Reminding me of the melancholy which has plauged my soul,
For without you,
Each day is an impossible task.

All this pain,
All over a nameless boy they called a failure,
All over a nameless boy they called a wreck.

And on this lonely sunday,
I swear to the gray blanket above,
I'll remember your name,
Somehow, some way.

About The Poem: This poem is about a girl trying to remember the name of a boy she loves. Their relationship ended many years ago, and she has been so engulfed in the pain of his loss that his name has been lost in her memory. She remembers that he was considered a failure by his parents and society, his face, and broken bits of the memories they shared...But most importantly, she remembers her love for him. The boy, soon after their relationship ended, ran away, and she hasnt seen him since.
