What age is "too old" to go back to school?

Some people say that it's never too late, but I'm not so sure. I mean, I guess in a literal sense they are correct, but I tend to think that I'm way to far removed from the school/study mindset. I have so many other obligations that I don't feel I'd be able to fully apply myself at this point. I guess I'd have to take a light load and go slow.

What do you think?

I don't think it's ever too late. I intend to go back and study again and can fit in with the school mindset. It does depend on what else is happening, but as I have no children or obligations I am free to pursue education again. It's just finances and also people younger than me in class. I did experience this as summer school, and all my classmates were 17 years old. I got on well with most of them and am still friends with them, despite the age gap. No one really noticed, but they just couldn't go for a drink with me after class!

Ha ha, yeah, they could probably have a drink... they probably have fake ID. Kidding aside, I hear what you're saying. I don't really think that part would bother me so much though. My kids are young adults and I'm comfortable amongst their friends (as much as is possible anyway).

I think for me it would be more a matter of being easily distracted and not staying as focused as I'd need to be. Good post. Thanks for the reply.
